Update Rollup 3 for System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 The update Rollup 3 for System Center 2012 Service Pack 1 has been released while ago.

For VMM, to be able to install this update on top of Update rollup 1, you will first need to uninstall the UR1. There are no know issues to install UR3 if you have Update Rollup 2 installed.

P2V: There is not enough disk space?

P2V There is not enough disk spaceTrying to P2V a server to a CSV volume and getting host placement rating 0 for all Hyper-V hosts although there is enough space available on the CSV volume.  This is a known issue with VMM 2012; VMM uses space available on the local drives for calculating available storage in host placement.

VMM 2012: Multiple VM objects in Creating State

imageTrying to P2V a production server, and the jobs were failing due to some issues with the host. After fixing it, I was able to successfully P2V couple servers but when I checked the VMM management console I had three objects for the same VM, two of them were in the creating state.

Jobs were already in failed state in the logs…

VMM 2012: VM Console Error (0×0107, 0×0000)

0×0107, 0×0000After an initial/clean installation of VMM, I was getting the following error message, “(0×0107, 0×0000)” upon trying to connect to VM via console in VMM. I was also getting password prompts several times and it was not accepting any valid credentials. There were no issues with opening the console through Hyper-V Console remotely.
